Lecturer Michael Maune wins Teaching with Digital Technology Award

CMS/W Head Seth Mnookin shared the news today:

Congratulations to WRAP lecturer Michael Maune for winning a 2024 Teaching with Digital Technology Award. These are especially meaningful awards because they are student-nominated and student-judged. Michael’s recognition is a much-deserved acknowledgement of the care and attention he puts into his teaching, which is often informed by his ongoing research in Applied Linguistics.

You can read more about the awards (and see student comments about Michael) here

Michael is the fourth member of CMS/W to win the award, following Kurt Fendt in 2016, Amy Carleton in 2019, and Andreas Karatsolis in 2023. These honors are a testament to our unit’s dedication to pedagogical innovation.

Co-sponsored by MIT Open Learning and the Office of the Vice Chancellor, the Teaching with Digital Technology Awards, whose nominations are made by students, acknowledge “instructors who have effectively used digital technology to improve teaching and learning at MIT.”
