Emily Makowski is a scientist-turned-writer from Buffalo, New York. She holds undergraduate degrees in psychology and evolutionary biology from Case Western Reserve University, where she studied moth behavior. She also worked in ophthalmology labs at Cleveland Clinic and the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center prior to making the switch to full-time writing. Her work has appeared in

Environmental Health News. Emily also has many interests outside of science, such as cooking, singing, and occasionally updating a blog about abandoned malls.
